A family dentist in Burlington.

We see people from Burlington and nearby, from a child’s first visit to a grandparent’s check-up, and we help you work out what coverage you may have.

Who we see

  • Children and teenagers. A calm first visit, and check-ups after that. More on children’s dentistry.
  • Parents. Cleanings and fillings, booked around school days. One visit can cover siblings.
  • Grandparents. A chair by the window and time to talk through what is being done.
  • Families working out coverage. We can go through the CDCP questions with you at the front desk.

Working out coverage

Two public programs can help with dental costs in Ontario. The Canadian Dental Care Plan is for people without access to private dental insurance whose adjusted family net income is under $90,000. Healthy Smiles Ontario is for children and youth 17 and under from low-income households.

Run the quick CDCP check on our home page.

Or see what the plan covers. The government decides who qualifies, so use the official canada.ca checker before you rely on it.

Questions people ask first

Who can apply for the Canadian Dental Care Plan?

You need all four: no access to private dental insurance or coverage (including health spending accounts that cover dental costs), a tax return filed in Canada by you and your spouse or common-law partner, adjusted family net income below $90,000, and Canadian residency for tax purposes.

What is a co-payment?

It is the part of the CDCP’s fee that the plan does not cover and that you pay the provider directly. Below $70,000 of adjusted family income you pay 0%. From $70,000 to $79,999 you pay 40%, and from $80,000 to $89,999 you pay 60%.
